This map from Floating Sheep shows Google placemarks by religious affiliation. Baptists are green, Methodists are red, Presbyterians are orangish, Lutherans are blue, Catholics are light blue, and Mormons are purple. Dallas is that little dot of red and orange.

That’s a pretty suspect map, seeing as how it fails to show south Louisiana as a sea of light blue.
It does show it as a locus of light blue, John G. NOLA isn’t big enough to be a sea unto itself.
I’m hard pressed to find a single beacon of Eastern Orthodox. Not a one, I bellow?
What’s up with Mexico? Shouldn’t it be all light blue?
Well, the map confirms a long held suspicion. Nothing but heathens west of Big Spring.
What color are agnostics?
Your description of the map is a little misleading and confusing. Obviously, the comments confirm that on first glance readers think the map represents religious affiliation. The text on the link says, its actually just online “references” by religious affiliation.
This is 10 years old, but its a better representation of religious affiliation:

Much like my soul, Nevada is nothing but dark grey.
Is there a purple spot in El Dorado?
I came home from El Dorado with a purple spot once.
