The clip of President Obama responding to Dallas’ own Congressman Jeb Hensarling at Friday’s GOP retreat in Baltimore has certainly been making the rounds. Hensarling says Obama is running up deficits at a rate unparalleled to anything the GOP did in the 1990s. Obama calls Hensarling a liar.
Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart called the exchange “awesome“. It made me wish the president went in front of Congress frequently, like Prime Minister’s Questions in the U.K. It’d just be fun, wouldn’t it?

Jeb would still be carrying Tom DeLay’s water if ol’ Tom hadn’t run afoul of the law. Here’s a fact: Jeb always did exactly what Tom DeLay told him to do. He only picked up his ‘fiscal conservative’ cloak after DeLay was gone and he, Jeb, had to remember to think for himself.
Delay didn’t run ‘afoul of the law’, unless you mean a law that was passed AFTER his action. But a good Democrat never let the truth get in the way of smearing someone from the other side of the aisle.
That’s a joke, right? Using DeLay and smear in a single post, but not joining the two together? (Clapping.)
