Remember that 77-year-old deacon from Sunnyvale who claimed he was robbed in church and who also said he got in a few licks of his own before the bad guys split? Now authorities are considering bringing charges against Bill Hammett of First Baptist Church. It looks like Hammett made it all up.
Come on, Steve Blow! This is right in your wheelhouse! And your backyard!

Tim – How dare you comment on Steve Blow’s work as a columnist for the DMN. I don’t like the DMN and I don’t like Steve Blow, but what I really don’t like is the fact that your magazine’s business model is to attract the eyes of rich people so that high-end advertisers can reach their target audience. That is elitist, arrogant, and condescending, not to mention that talking to rich people precludes your magazine from ever saying anything that is relevant to the rest of the city. Rich people belong to a caste that is superficial, self-indulgent, nasty, and ignorant – entirely separate and irreconcilable with the caste of we commoners, who are over educated, self-satisfied, nasty, and ignorant. Until you abandon this business model and drive your company towards bankruptcy so that you can pander to the cynical masses, I will not respect any opinion raised or supported on this blog. In the meantime, I would appreciate if you and your editors would please stop writing on this blog so that I can visit it daily and enjoy the silence, occasionally commenting on how happy I am for the silence and how much you still suck.
Easy there, Big JonathanS,
Tim was simply suggesting that Steve Blow, a Sunnyvale resident, write a column about this situation in his hometown. Not sure how that makes Tim “elitist, arrogant, and condescending” or “superficial, self-indulgent, nasty, and ignorant.”
Sounds to me like you have a bad case of class envy — you know, hate anyone who is successful or worked hard to achieve.
Please, leave the class hatred to the liberals. If you hate rich people so much, try living in poverty for a while. To use your term, it “sucks.” But most likely, you just blame the plight of the poor on those evil rich people, which according to Obama, is anyone making over $75k.
@PR: My post = satire. Sorry I had to spell it out.
@JonathanS: Funny, man. Thanks for the note.
@PR: Thanks for coming to my defense. But read JonathanS a little closer. I believe he was going for irony.
the second link isn’t working…would love to pass the story around
