Good Gawd. Seriously. This matters?
Does anybody remember the last Dallas Cowboy quarterback who successfully kept his private life out of the media? He played the perfect role, said the right things to the media, and did everything we Dallasites 'expect'. Yet because he was able to pull off separating his private life so well and never seen with some floozie in public, rumors were then circulated that he was gay. Leave Romo alone. Unless, of course, some chick decides to go after him with a pitching wedge while he's backing out of his driveway in his Caddy.

from Todd Archer of DMN

"Quick trip:Tony Romo was in Las Vegas with wide receiver Miles Austin on Friday – a day after the win over Oakland – causing some consternation after the quarterback's bye week vacation to Cabo before the playoff loss to the New York Giants two seasons ago.

But, according to a source close to Romo, the quarterback was in Las Vegas for a private charitable function that was planned months in advance and spent 14 hours in the city before returning to Dallas.

Romo was at Valley Ranch on Saturday morning for treatment on his injured back."

So, lets assume it was a charitable function, would we be concerned if Tony and Miles spent the day at a downtown Dallas homeless shelter, and then were spotted at the Dallas Hard Rock?

The worst part is that Jerry doesn't care so long as morons keep selling out the new stadium. This team is filled with idiots from top to bottom; the team rots from the head. Worst 8-3 team ever, but 8-8 is right around the corner...

"not the smartest thing he could have done."

Nobody will ever mistake Romo for a genius, that's for sure, but focus and commitment don't require the highest IQ.

I heard this anecdote during last night's New England-New Orleans game: The last time the Saints had a bye week, the coach had gone to his office that quiet Sunday to do some work, and there was Drew Brees, alone, throwing footballs down an empty field. "It's our off-week, Drew, what are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to keep my timing up, coach," Drew said, "so I'm playing an imaginary game in my head."

"Are we winning?" asked the coach?

"We are," came the reply.

Drew Brees and commitment 38, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen 17. Granted, practicing on my off week vs. breakfast in bed with Gisele is an easy call for me, but I'm just that way. Brees, on the other hand, completed 18 of 23 passes — a staggering 78 percent — for 371 yards, an average of 20 yards per completion. He had five touchdown passes to five different receivers and finished with a perfect QB rating of 158.3.

Romo & Austin in Vegas over a Thanksgiving holiday? Why does this sound like the makings of a bad NBC half hour comedy? Jessica Simpson as the coctail waitress with a heart of gold.
