Remember when Eric Celeste used to work here? That was back when he was a journalist and did journalism, with words and ink and magazine paper. Now, as we’ve reported in this space, he’s a finger-gun-shooting salesman (hereinafter referred to as “FGSS”). Well, we’ve got these things called “huddle rooms” in our new office (thanks, Gensler!) designed to host small, impromptu meetings. From where the D Magazine editors sit, in the “newsroom pit,” as it were, we have a view of one such meeting underway right now. The meeting is being led by none other than the FGSS. I did a drive-by with my cellphone to capture the image you see here. Question: would you buy something from this man?

Does he drive a white van? Did his company send him too many home speakers? Is he going to make me a deal on them?
Everything must go!
P.s., I am a dry-erase Ninja.
I never trust a bald man with facial hair. It’s like he’s lying to himself. So he’s sure to lie to me too.
Eric…step away from the dry-erase board….
A two handed marker man! Truly a professional whiteboarder!
@DLP – That scenario played out at least 20 times in college. I know people who still have those speakers.
Ahhhh….Memories.
But no, I wouldn’t buy anything from this guy.
He reminds me a Vic Mackey without the badassness.

Tim reminds me of this guy — including the badassness.

Note the double marker technique. Tremble at the intense sales gaze. Gander at the pushed up sweater sleeves. Quibble that, in FGSS world, personality is subservient to “Brand”. All designed to say “Let’s sell some *&#%ing custom publishing, mofos!!!”
he needs to take lessons from this guy

I note only four prongs coming off “brand.” Seems to me that if Celeste were really that creative, there would be at least 10 to 15 prongs, plus sub-prongs under those. I worry for D Custom.
Are those Eric’s real hands?
It looks like he is diagramming the finale tonight of Dancing With the Stars. He’s analyzing Bruno’s decision-making process, to the extent it exists, right?
Eric appears to be very symmetrical. Congratulations on that.
Celeste generates revenue for the growth sector of D Publishing and has an office. Rogers generates letters and edit marks on dead trees, and has been moved to the “news pit” / cube land.
Advantage: Celeste
@John from UP: To be clear, Eric does not have an office. He, too, lives in cube land.
