Hint #1: The thing weighs 20 tons.
Hint #2: It once belonged to the Cunard Line.
Hint #3: Of a set of four, one is at the bottom of the ocean, one was salvaged for scrap, one is part of a memorial in Ireland, and the one pictured now rests behind the main building at Old Parkland on Maple Avenue.
Okay, Dallas history buffs, show your stuff.

Lusitania?
One of the Lusitania Propellers?
RMS Lusitania
Too easy. Titanic prop.
titanic propeller? that’s the cunard line.
Lusitania
Could be from the Lusitania, but isn’t the memorial with the propeller in Liverpool?
contest rules exclude basically the city of dallas… maybe someone in fort worth?
Hmm. I would say it belonged to the Lusitania, but one of its propellers is in Liverpool, not Ireland.
The Carpathia?
The Love Boat? The African Queen? One of the boats from the old Six Flags River Ride? The Good Ship Lollipop? Multiple guesses disqualifies me, huh?
I am going to guess the Queen Elizabeth…it came to an end in Hong Kong harbor after a fire and was scrapped (anyone remember the James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun?). FYI, per Wikepedia, the ship was not named for the daughter of Henry VIII.
Wonkatania
The other propeller is in Gene Wilder’s backyard.
Maersk Alabama?
I’m, guessing the Queen Mary. Funny, I can’t remember the Cunard Line sailing the Trinity River……..
RMS Lusitania
Lusitania..not that hard.
@Lakewoody: It was supposed to be hard? Dang.
Looks like the same one I saw in a California tank museum a few years ago. If I recall, the Lusitania had it’s screws damaged and replaced before it was sunk.
Lusitania. Very Cool! Didn’t know there was a Dallas connection.
When is round two of “Name that Propeller”?
The Minnow?
Well, I’m out.
So how did it end up behind Parkland?
my yacht?
Bill did see it at a California tank musuem a few years ago. It was displayed their until early November when it ended up in your part of the country.
Lusitania for sure.
