By watching clips of dogs welcoming home their soldier owners from tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. (Don’t watch the last clip — which is not of dogs, but of little kids — if you work in an office where openly weeping at your desk is frowned upon.)

Yep, I had to watch the last one… ouch.
The dog stuff I could handle, but, good grief and holy waterworks, the kids got to me and I’m sitting here in Oak Cliff at the headquarters of animal-friendly readlarrypowell.com and Inky the ****er Spaniel and I are manfully dabbing each others tears….Nothing else to say but “Bless the beasts and chldren…”
