As Molly Ivins said, ” The next time I tell you not to elect a Texas governor as President, listen to me.” The last one worked out SO well.

Makes me think about that dream I had as a kid where I was drowning, awash in a sea of Dream Whip atop a watery peach cobbler and put a saddle on a water roach and rode into sunset.

He’d get my vote!

I’d rather vote for Steve Perry, or Gaylord, or the kid from my 7th-grade class who’d take his glass eye out for a quarter …
Sammy@ November 10th, 2009 at 10:41 am
Why would you vote for Perry, James?
JS@ November 10th, 2009 at 10:55 am
I’d rather vote for Perry the Platypus.

No, No, No, Never, Never, never! Look, I’ll be the first to say that Bush got an overly bad rap, or, at least the bad things he did were exploited way more than the good things, like his efforts against AIDS and what he did for this State, however there is a VERY bad general taste left in the mouth of the rest of the country about Texas politicians. Perry would only emphasize the stereotype. His personal “good ol boy network” resembles an Aggie frat house. Part of me would support him for President, (He’d lose to John Gosselin at this point) just so we could speed his exit out of politics all together.

I’m more interested in hearing why Kay Baily’s campaign is floundering despite the fact that the deck is stacked against Perry.
@MikeInEuless Well played. I guess being a Washington insider is a terrible thing in 2010 but not in 2012.

Maybe it’s because she’s not a Conservative, and Perry is currently pretending to be.

I think she has to waffle carefully about her campaign plans until after the crucial Healthcare vote is done in the Senate. Otherwise she opens herself up to the “Damned if you do, Damned if you don’t” by the Perry campaign.

FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine preemptively out themselves for sleeping with co-workers before anyone can blackmail them with a movie script detailing their indiscretions.
