Robby Wells, not sure if your comments are "tongue in cheek" based on the Raf Simons/Doc Martens shoes/boots that are being produced.
As a Belgian designer working on a Belgian classic, Raf is clearly a fan (as he is of Fred Perry) and does a great job with the basic Doc shoe and boot. Now if you are talking about his shiny shoes or his gladiator boots, then he may have got a little carried away!....

Raf Simons thinks Docs are atrocious as well, but what does he know? Maybe he should spend more time in Dallas and get educated.

CBS, funny comments. What makes Doc's atrocious? The fact that they are not $700 a pair and fawned over by the pseudo big glasses wearing fashionista's that haunt NM? I agree there have been some pretty horrible Doc's produced over time, but the classic oxblood boot is as common to Britain as the cowboy boot is to Texas (no I'm not a skin head, but wore Doc's every day to school and still break 'em out from time to time). Perhaps if they were called Jimmy Choo's you would be happier...

Maybe she's wearing old shoes because its raining and she didn't want to get her more fashionable footwear wet. Looks like sensible shoes to me.

cbs, you are obviously not shallow enough, like me, to know that this dichotomy is sooo what's happening on the streets of New York, London, Paris, Milan, etc. Only in Dallas, would there be a chance of this look being misunderstood.

Anyway, the 80s are back. Just ask Merritt Patterson over at "Overheard".

I am willing to guarantee she does not work at or for NM. For heaven's sake, she's wearing Doc Martin's...how 80's.

Pretty girl, nice photo, atrocious footwear.

Do you believe the Sartorialist is staged? I admit that I have found many photos too perfect for a truly candid moment but I appreciate the work nonetheless.

FWIW: although her style may quite possibly be innate, it is also possible she could work as/with Neiman's buyers in the offices above the sales floors. Unsurprisingly, all the buyers are impeccably dressed--as is this subject. However, as a buyer/asst, she would not be required to carry a clear bag since she's not on the selling floor but loss prevention would check her handbag before she exited the premises.

If she works retail, where's her required see-through bag?
I, for one, would be willing to bet money that she went to his book signing, caught Scott's eye, happened to live right across the street from the Adolphus in which he was indeed staying, and met him for coffee and a shoot the next morning. We loves Amber Jackson.

As I replied on Twitter, she's a good friend of mine. Not in retail, just happens to live downtown.
