Barrett Wissman, you’ll recall, is the former hedge fund manager and partner of Clark Hunt’s who has plead guilty to felony securities fraud. He owes the feds $12 million in fines, and he’s supposedly helping the government figure out the dirty business surrounding state pension funds and how they invest their billions. Well, the feds aren’t the only ones who want a piece of Wissman. A woman named Hilary Kramer has filed suit in New York against him and Hunt, claiming that they destroyed her Greentech hedge fund. Problem is, Kramer’s lawyer says he can’t find Wissman.
Yesterday, Howard Sirota sent a note to me and other journalists who have written about Wissman, saying that Sirota’s process servers can’t find Wissman in New York or Dallas. How can that be? It wasn’t that long ago that Wissman’s lawyer, Bill Brewer, told the WSJ that his client, when he isn’t working with investigators, is basically just spending quality time with his family in Dallas, playing the piano, and keeping in shape. So Wissman ought to be easy to find. Right?
I’ll leave comments on, just in case anyone has a Wissman sighting to report.

The last sighting I heard… Wissman and Nina were seen having dinner at (the ironically named) Steel restaurant.
Remember that piece in D Mag about deBoulle and the process-service antics there . . .
Heard he was up in Prosper working out with Deion.
Maybe they should look in St.Croix where Clark Hunt and Barrett Wissman filed the same address? Or better yet, how about Peru where He, Hunt, and Alberto Franco control a gambling operation. But don’t tell that to the NFL! Can you say debacle??
I think I saw him at McDonald’s having a Royale w/Cheese and washing it down with a fine Merlot.
funny, I live right down the street and see him almost every day playing with his son.
doesnt seem much of a mystery to me!
Hey Daniel! Its me Redbone! Can you believe Brewer in that article in The WSJ saying “He thought he was having a hamburger”??? That dude is off the charts. When are all of us in Dallas gonna stop pointing the finger at Barrett and realize that Brewer dumped all over him for Hunt. We all realized, when Brewer got booted from The Al Hill, Jr. case, how low he would go for a client with deep pockets. Barrett should boot that dude-garter belts and all! Take a look at the other post about the gambling operation and it says it all.
I think Wissman is shacking up with Andrew Cuomo somewhere in NYC. Cuomo doesn’t want to lose his “key witness” just yet. He’s probably in a safe house drinking fine wine and eating Kobe’ steak while expounding on the virtues of classical music and Italian culture. Or, he could just be working part-time at Subway making sandwiches trying to raise that $12,000,000 he owes to the state of New York. Hmmmm…I’m guessing the first option is more likely.
On that note, if anyone does not believe that Wissman has far more than 12mil stashed in some untouchable offshore account, then you’ll believe anything.
I think the “balloon boy” has far more credibility than this so-called “family man.”
