Kidd Kraddick Destroys Me Real Hard

The folks at Avid Golfer did a mock golf tourney wherein I faced Kidd Kraddick in the first round. It did not go well for me.

  1. I was lucky enough to play with both Tim and Curt one afternoon at Tenison Highlands and while Kidd would probably kick his ass, Tim would outdrink him 3 Shiners to his 1. I have pics to prove it.

  2. Does it still count if people walk of the course rather than continue to listen to him? If he is anything in person like he is on the radio I don’t think I could handle an entire round of golf with him.

  3. @Frankie: Good to hear from you. Besides the recently punched greens that day, we had a good round. Curt can hit the ball for an old man, can’t he? Cheers.

@John: Kidd is a different fellow off the air. I bet you’d like him.

  4. Everytime I think of the magical Dallas National outing with Tim and Adam (RIP), it makes me wonder why we don’t play every saturday.

(We should invite John too although I don’t usually enjoy spending saturdays with guys who talk about people they’ve never met.)

Seriously, Tim…when I get my cast off, we’re playing.

  5. @Kidd: I’ll always treasure what you said at Adam’s funeral. You’re a good man.

You obviously have a very successful radio show and have found a formula that works very well for a large number of listeners. It is reasonable to believe that your show doesn’t accurately reflect your personality in real life, I just find your show to be overly cloying and lacking in substance for my taste, although to be fair that is a criticism that I have about genre in general regardless if it is your show, the Today Show, or the View. To each their own.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume your personality in person is much less geared towards likability by moms that drive minivans. I am sure you are delightful in person and I retract my joke about you preforming your radio show on the golf green.

p.s. I will preemptively apologize to those that disagree with my feelings about the radio show as entertainment is a matter of personal preference and taste.

p.p.s. As penitence I will even try and listen to your show on the way to work this morning.

  7. @ Tim and Kidd –

When that cast comes off, you should compete at TopGolf. I will personally setup a couple competitions that will eliminate any chance of Tim’s foot wedge being a factor.

    Just let me know…..

  8. Okay, I try to reply once a year… :) John, that was a very impressive response. I’m not sure what “gearing towards likability” means but if that’s covered at a convention, I will certainly pay attention. :)
