Time Again To Report On The Exxon Mobil Bashing

There’s no PR jihad by the Rockefeller family against the company’s leadership, as there was in 2008. As of 8:40 this morning there wasn’t a protester in sight. And chief agitator Robert Monks admitted to CNBC that he’s “not going to get a majority of votes today” to try once again to split Exxon Mobil’s chairman and CEO roles. No matter; national attention is paid every year to the Irving-based company’s annual shareholder meeting at the Meyerson–even when not that much unusual is happening. Main reason: it’s always in vogue to report about folks beating up on Exxon Mobil. Last I checked, the company earned $4.6 billion in the first quarter; so, remind me again what’s not working?
