Do the city fathers in little Malakoff, Texas, realize what’s about to happen in their town? Next month, the burg’s chamber of commerce will host the 12th Annual Cornbread Festival. One of the festival’s featured events, according to the CofC Web site: a “Cornhole Tournament.” Shockingly, the chamber is “working to sanction” the event even as we speak. Then again, they may just be talking about a beanbag game.

This reminds me of Lawrence, who had the long hair, on “Office Space” when he says to Peter as he was going to jail: “Watch out for your corn hole, man.”

Wonder what it takes to be Best In Show.
Astroglide is very interested.
Definitely a beanbag game. What else could it mean?
I’m sure Tim and Eric are a-titter about attending.
I went home to southern Indiana for the holidays, and one of the gifts my step-nephew received was 2 wooden ramp things, with a hole at the top of each ramp. All of my relatives were going on and on about “Cornhole this…” and “Cornhole that…” and “You can get bags for it…”, and I was just sitting there with my mouth agape and eyes wide open.
Interesting holiday, indeed.
When I returned to Dallas from Christmas, my fellow gays and I Googled “Cornhole” over drinks at Cuba Libre. What an interesting subculture are the Cornholers!
Great first line for a novel or short story:
