Unleashed sounds like a pretty cool concept: 50,000 square feet of indoor off-the-leash dog parkery on Samuell Boulevard just south of I-30. And, as Michael Davis notes, no pits, please. Opens March 28. Joe Bob says check it out and let us know, dog lovers.

I thought this was a good idea until I read this:
(Please note: to protect the special turf system, no shoes with cleats or heels with any type of point, such as women’s stilettos, are allowed in the indoor park.)
Now how is that going to work in Dallas?
None of my dogs wear cleats or stilettos.
There’s a billboard advertising this place at 75 & Henderson, across from the Barney’s New York billboard and what used to always be the Neiman Marcus billboard, thus this dog park peaks my interest.
I’ll have to do a drive-by, as I have no dogs.
You’ll be happy to know, Missing Dots, that they actually keep flip flops at the front desk for fashionistas who show up in there Louboutins.
Sorry about the construction on Samuell, they say they are working as fast as they can! While you are over there, pay your respects to the von Erich family over in Grove Hill Cemetary. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Stuck on Stupid.
I don’t see how this place can last. Even at $8 a day, you’d have to have a heckuva lot of dogs to make the investment back.
Welcome to District Four. I hope someone from D comes out to cover the grand opening. This is a serious facility.
How long has construction been happening on Samuell? Seems like forever. Construction down by Ferguson has got to be a couple years old now, or does it just seem that long?
$7.50 for an hour at the dog park. Uh, no.
Bark Park Central: free.
I agree.

It is free, assuming you do not receive a parking ticket.
It would be funny to write “A Pit Bull Killed my Baby” on your name tag at a rubber-chicken event and watch the manifest unease of suited men.
Whatever happend to the “Dingo killed my baby?”
The place is great. Yes, they welcomed pit bulls until two got into it the first few hours they were open. Now, no more. Good job, dog owners.
Still, it CAN succeed. We should all support it. This part of Dallas (Buckner Terrace) is thrilled to have them as neighbors. They will have a cafe. Finally, a place for us that doesn’t have a drive-thru!
Chris– Tx DOT says summer this is all over on Samuell.
Oh, and you wait, you will see. Rainy days, hot days, freezing days. They can get the business. Rate is a bit high, though. I would like to see a frequent-user discount.
Thisplace is awesome. It’s $8 for the whole day in and out privliges. They are bulding a small & large dog pool outside that is surronded by trees. I am totally taking my dogs this summer, White Rock Dog park rocks but when it’s 100 degrees outside Unleashed sounds a bit more like my place!
As a dog trainer and owner of Embarked Dogs I am offended at the No Pit bulls allowed. It is not the breed of the dogs it is the peolple who own them. Opening up a dog park you should be educated on dogs, breeds, their well being, and everything related about dogs. Pit bulls love people and as many dog owners have shown, the pit bull breed can and are great with other dogs. So you will let Rotteweilers and German sheperds in and little dogs who are so unsocialized with other dogs that they bite other dogs. It is sad that you are opening up a dog park and actually are saying that some breeds are okay and others are not. You are not a true dog lover and should never have been the owner or operator of such a park.
And after reading that two pit bulls got into it a few hours after they opened, still look to the owners not the breed. Two Rotteweilers could get into it, two bulldogs could get into, two little dogs could get into, a dominent aggressive big or little dog can get into it.
