Us Weekly Says LeAnn Rimes Down with O.P.P.

A couple of years ago, I interviewed Garland native LeAnn Rimes for our Best of Big D issue. I spent a few hours around her at the photo shoot, and we did not become best friends. But one thing was for sure. She and her husband were in looooove. She mentioned their love numerous times in the interview. Hubby Dean was there, and he did things like a) grab her booty more than once while saying, “booty booty booty booty!’ b) lots of hugs and smooching c) gaze at his screensaver, a picture of LeAnn.

Needless to say I was shocked–shocked!–when I saw that Us Weekly has LeAnn on the cover this week, with the headline, “LeAnn Rimes Caught In An Affair.” Check it out here on perezhilton.com. He also has a grainy picture of LeAnn and her alleged paramour, Eddie Cibrian, kissing in a restaurant. She and Eddie know each other from Northern Lights (a Lifetime movie). You guessed it–Eddie is married too. Soon after she posted this on her website:

This is a difficult time for me and my loved ones, but I appreciate all your continued support.

I would like to assure all of you that this is a place for you to hear things directly from me and as you all know, not everything in our lives is always black and white.

Hmm. Not exactly a denial. I just don’t believe she would have an affair. They seemed too happy. What say you?

  1. If 50 percent of marriages end in divorce, I’d say that s–t happens and her marriage may be one of those that ends in divorce.

  2. If you’re human and have a pulse, you’re capable of having an affair. Why are so many people shocked when someone strays from a committed relationship? It happens ALL THE TIME.

  5. I’ve always contended that the couples who go out of their way to demonstrate how in love they are with each other in front of others are always the ones who have the most dysfunction going on behind closed doors.

    Think about it: how many couples do you know that fawn all over each other, call each other “babe” or “honey” nonstop in public, preach to you about your relationships, then it ends up that one of them has been cheating for years?

  8. Totally agree with SB. I always thought she and the hubbo played it up way too much.

    I know we shouldn’t believe everything we read, but I think they seem to try to get publicity for their overt cheesiness (Sarah, did you feel like it was so canned when you interviewed her??), so that’s just asking for it.

    If you’ve been married for 10 years, you’re not going to be gush 24/7 unless you’re trying to justify something that’s not there.

  13. HELLO, I can’t be the only one who has always thought her husband batted for the OTHER team. I mean, c’mon, has anyone seen him in an interview, heard him talk, and the overt fondling…all the stereotypes are there. He is very, very, effeminate…Mr. back up dancer that he is. :)

  16. Didn’t she get married when she was a teenager? If you look at most people who have affairs, it’s because they got married too young, before they were able to have more than one love.

  18. She’s not a Garland native. She was born in Mississippi, and her parents moved to the Dallas area when she was 6 or 7. She became famous and moved west at, what, 13? So she didn’t live here that long.

  20. This does not surprise me at all! The first time I saw her husband, he seemed gay. I have no idea why she married him in the first place. Sounds like LeAnn is another Star Jones – in denial before she wakes up!
