I just flipped over to SportsCenter in time to catch NFL reporter Michael Smith breaking the news that the Dallas Cowboys have released Terrell Owens. Smith says it’s because of all of the lockerroom disruptions. If this were a sports blog, there’d be a lot of cogent analysis here. I guess I’ll just leave that for the commenters.

WHAT THE?!!! Even Jerry was talking the other day about how T.O. isn’t a locker room disruptor. This bites! If I had a suite, I’d release it back to JJ because of all his chicanery.
Could Anquan Boldin be his replacement? Or maybe Torry Holt?
Suddenly, that aching, nagging pain in my butt is diminishing. Coincidence? To be fair, the off-field TO could not have been a better guy. Always super friendly, polite and respectful if you ever saw him walking around town. But, what a pain in the butt teammate.
Wow, I must say that I’m impressed by Mr. Jones. Best move he’s made in years…
All the sports outlets in the area just lost there golden goose.
Mavs beat the Spurs and TO is gone. What a good day! And tomorrow is my birthday. Thanks Jerry and Cubes! It was everything I wanted!!!
(AmandaCobra has some major sports cred with me today. So who’s gonna win the NBA Finals?)
T.O. had/has some issues.
His maturity was/is questionable at times.
But you cannot deny the guy wanted to win and has more heart than “Hollywood Romo” and several other Cowboy’s put together
He was not the only problem in the locker room.
I think they did the wrong thing.
Just one woman’s opinion.
Now if only Jerry would trade Romo for Jay Cutler and a draft pick…
Granted there are enforceable contracts, but I get the impression that the new stadium is draining the pocketbook of what WAS America’s team?
Just my observation!
NFL comes to town – The Superbowl committee needs more $$$ – So Jerry needs to trim the payroll.
@jhs, Money was not the factor in this. And, FYI, Have you seen how much the Cowboys bring in? Money is never an issue, even today.
SPorts blog. What a great idea. Adam, you should look into that.
Safety Roy Williams was just released, too.
Cutler is a whiny, gen y entitled dil…..I will take my chances with Romo.
that trash is leaving the city. His craptastic attitude didn’t belong in Philly and it sure doesn’t belong here. Good riddance TO!
Romo of the blown-glass pinkies? I give him one more season to redeem himself, and then I start littering his lawn with copies of the straight-to-DVD private whatsis and piles of poo.
Which, when looking at the plan all written out, looks kind of redundant.
HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
I really liked TO but I’m glad that they let him go. He and Pacman were too much of a risk to the team.
He’s a war criminal.
Sorry. Wrong thread.
I love the word cogent. Here are my cogent comments.
Blah! Why do footballers buy houses where they play, instead of rent? T.O. was buying up space in his loft bldg in Deep Ellum and now what? Sell it? T.O. seemed to bring a lot of bad, but a lot of good (playing) also. I think the Cowboys won’t be good again for a long while.
