That’s the word I’m hearing from folks close enough to know. And that should probably read “another 450 people,” as this follows on the heels of a similar-in-size reduction in force a month or so ago. Also, everyone who remains is taking a pay cut — a small percentage, but everything counts at this point.
Sorry to everyone affected.

About time. I just ordered another monogrammed thong for my servant boy, Manfred, and they didn’t double my InCircle points. Someone should be fired over that.
It’s amazing that Neiman’s has done as well as it has for so long! And, frankly, it’s not suprising that this downturn has finally caught up with the seemingly untouchable NM.
I have friends that work in several of their largest stores but I would never shop there. The prices are inflated to the point of absurdity (even at Last Call prices) for a product that does little to differentiate itself thru it’s wear or performance. Instead NM relies on “exclusivity” and “couture pricing,” both of which are a poor substitute for value. I wish them the best (it’s not the salesperson’s fault!) but I also wish they would provide a selection that I could actually imagine wearing!
PS – Have you seen the latest men’s catalog??? Are they serious?
