Since there was no way that he was going to vote for the spendulus bill (thank goodness!), I fail to see this as an indictment of our Senator. His being their would not have changed the outcome.

Hope he has signed an agent. What next, an appearance on Letterman. Whether he agreed with the stimulus or not, he owes his constituents a vote (after all wasn’t that why they voted him in). Me thinks he views himself as above it all.

Maybe he just didn’t feel like providing some stimulus cloture. Maybe that’s a lot of pressure for a guy to be able to do that every night. Maybe he just wanted to cuddle.
Gosh.

His stimulus had lasted more than 4 hours, so he was consulting his physician.

Coward!
If it works ” he didn’t vote against it.” If it does not work “he didn’t vote for it”. Which side of face does all that twitching, Johnny?

If a Republican Senator doesn’t get up and filibuster, then IMO, the Republicans are giving a vote to the spendulus bill, too. Remember how the GOP called out Obama for all of his ‘Present’ votes? If they don’t fight this boondoggle with every resource at their disposal, they are voting ‘Present’, too.

He’s such a loser, he won’t even stand up and be a man and cast the vote that we ALL know he wants to cast, which is AGAINST the bill.
A Texas senator, hiding from voting. We deserve so much better.
I bet Rick Noriega would have been there and voted.

I just tried to call his offices, and got voice mail–the phones are swamped with people expressing their displeasure with Senator No-show

Perhaps when people stop voting for people just because they are homophobic and bigoted, we might ended up being represented by someone with an original thought.

I just spoke to Corny’s North TX office: Occidental Tower
5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 1150
Dallas, TX 75244
Main: 972-239-1310
The “excuse” is that last night was a “procedural” vote and hence, not really important.
So nice that he considers doing the TX citizen’s business in Washington “not important.”

NEW YORK CITY? Now that won’t play well in a “Big, Bad John” commercial.

What is John Cornball doing in New York City?
Doesn’t he know that city if filled to the rim with Box Turtles?

I just wish that Snowe, Spector and Collins took the same approach. Its laughable to complain about Cornyn missing this one vote when we have President ‘present’ in office.
I think we all know where John stands on this vote, and don’t worry about him trying to take ‘credit’ for this comrades.

FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine come to waste a tremendous amount of time.
