Motorcade in Highland Park

I have a reader on the phone. He is watching as 5 police motorcycles surround the fountain at Preston and Armstrong across from Jerry Jones’ house. I asked him to circle the block. Yow. Zah. He is reporting a three-block line of Dallas police cars, state trooper vehicles, and 25 motorcycle cops all parked in formation from 4300 to 4600 Armstrong. Belfort seems to be the crucial intersection. “Looks like the cops at the fountain are part of the advance team,” says my reporter. “They are all giving me the evil eye for circling the block. I’m leaving.” That’s less than a mile from D Central. Maybe Tim and Eric are coming back from Phoenix? It has to be GWB. (Spider Monkey, wake up. It’s quite a visual.)

UPDATE: Cynthia Smoot, from D CEO, sends a picture and a report. “We are told by HP Police that it is not former President Bush. But that’s all they will say for ’security reasons.’”

  1. I saw it too this morning. They were at the corner of Armstrong and Douglas. Tons of motorcycle cops.

  4. They just passed down the service road on Central, 20 motor cycle cops, state troopers and limos and an ambulance. The last time I say that it was VP Cheney or as I prefer to say, he whose name should not be mentioned.

  8. Exactly what good does a motorcade of 25 police do? Another question: Are our tax dollars paying for these Dallas patrolmen to be escorting Mr/Ms. Unknown to and through the Park Cities instead of stopping crime?
