Leading Off (1/8/09)

1. In the end, one of Pacman’s ghosts finally caught up with him. “I can’t believe it!” shrieked no one.

2. The troubled history of Oak Wood Place, where Sr. Cpl Norman Smith was shot and killed on Monday.

3. Michael E. Young was the last to say “not it!” so he gets the “gas prices on the rise” story.

  1. 1. Actually, CNNSI reported that Pacman, of all people, was surprised. What a dumb dumb.

    3. Picking on the DMN every day has become dull because they don’t fight back (exception: columnists) I like it better when FB picks on Schutze. At least he punches back. With Authority.

  2. Why isn’t there a “real” sportsblog related to this site? Seems to me that with all the gossip you guys toss around, there would be plenty of sports-related stuff to warrant it’s own blog. You’ve got real estate, food, fashion, etc. – Dallas is a heckuva lot more than just that stuff…I’m just sayin’.

  3. “”Football means a lot to me, but it’s not everything. It’s not like I’m taking it pretty good. I love me some me.”

I guess Pacman’s New Year’s resolution was to be more honest. It won out over “Stop shooting people” and “Be more humble.”

  4. You say ONE of Pacman’s ghost, but you don’t say which. Curious minds want to know, was it Inky…Blinky…

  6. Earlier last year, while driving S on I-45, I saw coroners crowded around a dead body tossed alongside Julius Schepps Rd, right next door to Oak Wood Place. I think it’s safe to say now that it’s a pretty bad area to live in.
