I’m being told that he’s taking all 11,000 square feet of the top floor of the building at the corner of Berkshire and the access road to the Tollway. Here tis:
You mean that that 17 story high-rise? I think it might have a smidgen more then 11,000 square feet in it.
I am a bit unfamiliar with how things work but besides give speeches and sit on boards, what does an ex-president do that requires an 11,000 sqft office?

@ John M: I recall you saying one time you went in to the office late and left early…how big is your office??
Brideget Nowhere@ January 8th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
An office. For what?
LouLou@ January 8th, 2009 at 4:59 pm
@John M – I think you’re right about the square footage. Maybe its the new building next to it that was just completed?
My personal office? I don’t have a clue, big enough for a desk, a couple of filing cabinets, a couple of chairs and a sofa (I don’t have a sofa but the office across the hall is identical and he has one.

That is the building he was in during the early 90s.

Must be a heckuva model train setup.

Will there be brush to clear?
microdermer@ January 8th, 2009 at 7:29 pm
Why would he take the top floor when his elevator only goes halfway up?
publicnewssense@ January 8th, 2009 at 8:26 pm
Couldn’t he follow Clinton’s Harlem example and take an office in Fair Park — I understand there’s a big vacancy in the heart of the park….
I was told this about four weeks ago, since t building also houses one of Dallas’ top luxury real estate brokers. “Men in black” in suits all over the place. However, I went over to check it out and the management told me “no way”. Thus I held off on posting pending more information. This was also about the time I broke the story on the Daria Place home purchase, then the holidays which drive us all nuts. I have been told that President Bush was officing in the new Trammel Crow building — the old Parkland Hospital, and most recently, in Roger Staubach’s new building which Roger’s son denied. http://dallasdirt.dmagazine.com/2008/08/14/president-bushs-dallas-office-where-it-wont-be/
It is entirely possible that management lied to me, perhaps for security reasons, and maybe this is the Real McCoy. Stay tuned to DallasDirt — I’ll poke around.
Wouldn’t you just love to have him share your building?
I don’t know about everyone else but authority types rub me wrong. I can’t imagine having to pass through a bunch of them a couple of times a day because Mr-Asleep-At-The-Wheel might or might not be in the area, chances are mostly likely, might not.
Then there are the fans. I know some of his fans. I don’t think I could take more than one of them at a time.
@Dooner and Tim R: I’m sure now it was seven weeks ago.

Tim: we must have heard it from the same person because this is old news.

I understand that Bush will temporarily office at this Berkshire location on the ninth floor before moving permantly into the building being constructed at the SWC of Berkshire and Douglas that is to house Staubach/Jones Lang LaSalle.
No Candy, I lied when I gave you this story two months ago.
Mr. Bear@ February 4th, 2009 at 12:49 am
I knew this a year ago people. I work at the building, its called bershire at preston center. And its not the top floor, morons. And yes he did take the whole floor.
Mrs. Davis@ February 4th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
I also work in this building. I concur with Mr. Bear. But he will not be moving to the Staubach. He will be at Sherry Lane Place. And to all of those cracking jokes at him: I just saw him this morning, and he waved and said hello to me and my co-workers. It’s a pleasure to have him working in my building!

Ger over it.
All ex-presidents have an office and a staff.
Clinton came into office with no money and now has a net worth of over a hundred million.
FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine come to admit they used steroids -- but only to recover from injury, never to enhance their performance.

He’s taking an entire floor, which is 11,000 sf.
It’s the top floor. Sorry. Fixed.
