Because a FrontBurnervian just pointed me to a story in the Telegraph identifying him as a Dallas-based multimillionaire who is poised to complete his takeover of a Premier League team — and I’ve never heard of the guy. He used to work at the mysterious Lone Star Funds, but says here he’s retired. Also says he owns a rather large castle in Scotland. I did a little digging through public records and couldn’t immediately find a residence for the guy in Dallas. So here’s my question: does Ellis Short really live here? Anyone ever cross paths with him?
Lives in London, not a Dallas resident and hasn’t been for 9 years
an owner who is “intensely private”, and has “already poured millions into the club”? How refreshing.
@DKC: Several other knowledgeable FBvians confirmed the same thing to me. Ellis has an office here, but he sold his house, as you say, nine years ago. Used to live over near Tom Hicks and Gene Phillips — and, now, George W.
Let’s hope he’s got deep pockets….Sunderland will not stay in the Premiership this year, which will cost him $$ millions.
he lives in london. gave up us citizenship several years ago i think.
Ellis is my cousin. We grew up in Independence together. He and his lovely wife,Eve, now live in a newly completed, 19 building complex in Hawaii. His mother and brother/sister visited them at Christmas. Very private place. of course. To my knowledge he has not given up citienship–just needs to keep a step ahead of the courts. Oh dear, I should not have said that! There is some mystery among family members about just what he really does.
Lou, quite funny. Ellis has NO family member by the name of Lou and much of your other information is very inaccurate. Seems to me that you should really mind YOUR own business…..maybe you can get that correct.
