I Don’t guess Doug Burr’s the Shawl counts, looks like it’ll be released right after the first of the year, but his performance of pieces from it were outstanding. His show at times ten was outstanding, Glen Ferris’ slide guitar was masterful.

Best show I saw last year Was doug burr and Telegraph Canyon at Lola’s also, playing Dove Hunter, who I also really like. I think Telegraph Canyon always puts on a great show. I love Chris Johnson’s writing.

Eastwood’s CD was quite good, I thought. JD, who posts here sometimes is a great addition to this band.

Honorable mention for out of towners:
1. Tartufi at space galleries,
2. Delta Spirit at the Cavern.

I love the Cutoff, saw a couple of their shows, very good.

Sarah Jaffe is always good.

Do Monotonix ever swing through Dallas? They absolutely destroyed my brain at the Hideout Block Party here in Chicago.

Also, I’m happy to see Record Hop getting some love. They absolutely destroyed my brain at Fry Street Fair back in ‘05.

My wife says Ashley Cromeens’s mom, Pam?, is a hair stylist without peer.

That Mountain Goats album annoys the hell out of me, for some reason. Real Emotional Trash and Parc Avenue belong in the national Top 10. But arguing about music is dumb, so I digress.
