There are those who say he’s become a parody of himself, irrelevant. I don’t know. I just think the guy is funny. Just now on the 10 o’clock newscast, Dale Hansen finished his sportscast, turned to Gloria Campos, and cryptically congratulated her on her 30 years. That would be Clarice Tinsley over on Channel 4, who is celebrating 30 years on the Dallas airwaves.
Ha ha. Sounds like someone had himself a pre-show warm up on Henderson Ave or a little gaming action on Winton Ave. Ho ho.
Analysis: I don’t think Dale wants to replace Bob at the poker table anymore than Jim, but I like the
reacharoundreach out.Is Hansen still bitter about Bill Wilson firing him from Channel 4? If I remember, he fired him twice. Once in Nebraska and then at Channel 4 in Dallas.
Hansen was bitter and abrasive back then. Now it’s just an act I think.
It just seems like Gloria has been here for thirty years….
Thirty long, painful, and excessively perky years.
UGH
Dale Hansen is a prince among men, a demigod among mortals — larger than life, it’s true, as he’d be the first to admit, but always magnanimous with his lavish gifts and gracious with his immense personal magnetism.
I’m torn here. On one hand, I went as Gloria Campos to “Hero Day” when I was in third grade. I’m not sure why but I think I thought she had pretty hair.
On the other hand, I wrote a letter to Dale Hansen after seeing him speak at my school about how I wanted to grow up to be a sportscaster. Three weeks later, I got the response. Written on the back of my letter. In blue dry erase marker. It just said, “Go for it. Dale Hansen”
Dale Hansen for the win!

He did this as a diss to Clarice Tinsley. Channel 4 was going overboard with a salute to Clarice for her 30 year anniversary. The tributes, greetings, promos, cake, parties filling the airwaves during that time. Dale was being very…..Dale!
