An alert FBvian points us to the news that BusinessWeek has ranked SMU’s Cox as the No. 18 business school in the country. As someone who has graduated from that school, this honor makes me very proud. (Okay, I got a “certificate of completion” for a weeklong executive development program. Whatever. Basically the same thing.)

Quite the disparity compared to the widely used USNews rankings, where UT is 18, A&M 29 and SMU 44…even if they were even i don’t think McCombs grads would trade given the cost difference.
That Kappa Sig they caught with that big pile of cocaine last week in their frat house was one of Cox top students. Sad to see someone get kicked out of school like that.
SMU Cox, # 18 in the country? This is a complete joke!!! SMU Cox has not even made the list in BusinessWeek’s rankings in the last 12 years, yet they jump ahead of Yale SOM, USC-Marshall, and UT-McCombs in one year?? What changed this year for them? Did Jesus Christ become the new dean of the business school? Was there a mass exodus of faculty from Harvard Business, The London School of Economics and MIT-Sloan to SMU Cox? They are not a top 20 B-school… end of discussion. SMU Cox is where you go when you can’t get into Rice or UT.
SMU Cox is where you go when you want your Mayor to be named a honkin’ good CEO.
The best part about going there is getting the big Cox diploma.
