I have nothing to do at work xcept surf the web.
And, of course, make comments to blogs.

Well, it could be better. I am anxiously waiting for people to just cheer up. If I hear “economic woes” one more time I think I’ll go completely crazy.
We have become a real bunch of ******* - always expecting predictability. It’s life. Wake up and do something.
During difficult times it would help if we tapped into out human capital and found ways to be more productive, more efficient. Waiting for a bail-out or printing more play money is just plain LAZY.
Find a problem and solve it. Look for inefficiency and improve it. And, stop whining.
Last time I checked (yesterday) there was still plenty of food at Kroger. I guess everything is okay.
I feel better now. Thanks.
Big Tex@ November 14th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
@yeah, um. Next time try the Itallian Stallion, ordered all the way, on wheat…….I know, I know, youd think that it cant be as good as the Cuban but it is!!!!
Also, completely unrelated whats your facebook status mean Zac?
Gwyon: I’d debate you, but that would lead to one of us being pulled out of here in handcuffs.
Let’s keep this on point: Good or bad, what’s up with you? Let me hear some chatter.
John M@ November 14th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
The tire to my car blew on the way to work, I had to wait an over an hour for a tow truck to show up to tow my car to the shop and now I’m out $350 for a new tire.
Other than that not bad and I’m totally psyched for the protests this weekend.
Dave@ November 14th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
Woke up breathing, so at least I got that much going for me.
Fantastic! I just learned I am now off the hook for $3K of my medical bill! (Which I really shouldn’t have been on the hook for in the 1st place…) Our healthcare system is slammed-in-the-car-door-nuts.
Note: If you ever go to the ER and need to have an organ removed in order to remain alive, make sure the on-call surgeon is in-network before he cuts you open.

I’m sitting here amazed at the new Legacy Books at Shops at Legacy. (redundant?) Spent the morning working at their free wi-fi area and then my lunch hour perusing. Pretty sweet.
Details…three levels, modernist decor, classical music playing…side cafe available.
I’m regretting that power-sized carrot/oj from JambaJuice, trying not to kill an intern, irritated at myself for not grabbing a new pack of cigs on the way to work, and waiting for an overdue sack of kittens.
Just trying to figure out how to cram everything I need to do in the next 7 hours before I zonk out. Same s***, different day. Really, though, I’m doing fine - I have a job & a loving family. Just love to complain like everybody else.

Prop 8, 12:30 PM Saturday, Dallas City Hall
John M@ November 14th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Oh, and it’s not just a Dallas Protest, it’s a synchronized protest nationwide at the same time in every major city in the US. Expect it to be huge news saturday night.

oh, ya know, strikes and gutters…ups and downs
mostly downs right now as Lebowski Fest is in NYC this weekend and i’m fixin to fall asleep on me couch in Dallas by 8:47 p.m. CST and wake up sometime next Tuesday
@H.H.A.S.: Never. My brother and nephew have that under control. Melrose, MA represent.

Just don’t hold your breath on that “huge” news thing. If you can’t get it done in Cali, there’s not much chance you’re in the majority view anywhere else. IJS.

My shrink is out of town, my love life is a joke
My ex-wife sold my diary to Rona
My ashtrays overflow, and I don’t even smoke
And my sinuses came back from Arizona…

Pretty good, gave my students their 6 Weeks test today, don’t really have anything planned for the weekend. Looking forward to the cold front, dog sitting for a friend who’s going out of town this weekend. Maybe watch some football. Anyway, what’s up with you? How’s it going?
Wife and kid are healthy(ish) and happy. Pretty much good enough right there.

At the news desk. If they don’t get that teleprompter fixed by 5:00 p.m., I am so screwed.
Then I’m going to get handsy with Jane. And then Newy.
I like my gig. Uh, job.

I’m a wreck waiting on Sunday night’s game.
Don’t know which would be worse …Cowboys play horribly and squeak out a win….Cowboys play great but end up losing. Either way, they are driving me crazy..plus the Mavs suck and the Stars really suck.
Puddin'Tane@ November 14th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Other than sitting here watching the now famous Shiba Inu puppies on live stream and the hemorrhage of the commercial real estate retail sector, I’d say I’m doing ok.
(Panic mode soon to set in though. Quick! Someone get me a 40 and some Menthols!!)
Cari@ November 14th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
I call my house Fort Awesome, but the backyard needs a name. So far “The Fire Swamp” is the front runner. That way I can refer to the dogs as the R.O.U.S.’s. I am still seeking other great backyard names though.
Dude. You’ve got Jameson and Stella? And you’re not sharing? I was doing okay until about 30 seconds ago. Is this about that “more attractive” comment from earlier in the week? If so, I stand by it.
Yo. Is this like Gawker, where the volume of hits and comments are tied to your salary?
Next Friday’s question: What are you plans Thanksgiving?

Pretty good. A little overcast today in Chicago. Right now finishing up the week’s projects, might even try to leave a little early.
@Big Tex: It means nothing, really, except for my deep abiding love for Out of Sight and Don Cheadle.
I have a date tonight AND I bought 2 really cute pairs of shoes at lunch so my day is great.
I bought two pairs I didn’t need, spent $60 and had a savings of $90!! Gloria was right!!!
Fair to partly Midland.
Really, Zac? I’ve heard rumblings that things aren’t going so well at the D Empire.
I’m here typing, aren’t I?
“I’m here typing, aren’t I?”
Exactly!

Good point, Zac. It’s much less of a downer when it’s happening to other people.
i have to agree with mark. isn’t it about time people became satisfied with simply having enough and not being concerned with having more than enough?
