After I quibbled with Robert Wilonsky over Ron Kirk’s whereabouts on Tuesday night, Robert got the man himself to explain why he watched the returns at home. Kirk said: “I needed to be some place I could cry like a baby and not have anybody laugh at me.” I should have been at the Kirks’ house, too.

Ron shoulda come on down to Oak Cliff with the rest of us hardy Democrats. Everyone was laughing, crying, whooping, hugging and hollering all at once. There were hundreds of people crying like babies and he would have felt right at home!!
