Chesapeake Whacks Shale.TV

First its top dog was forced to sell his shares in the company. Now Barnett Shale powerhouse Chesapeake Energy Corp. has deep-sixed Shale.TV, its online news channel that had famously lured veteran local newsman Tracy Rowlett. The Fort Worth Business Press has the scoop.

    I guess natural gas at $6-7 Mcf vs the summer’s $12-14 makes an internet TV show less attractive. They are also cutting back on production some in Barnett with supply more plentiful, alongside $6-7 gas.

    If Tracy Rowlett survived Regent Ducas, the dearly departed CBS 11 news director, (props to FrontBurner) he can overcome any reversal adversity up to and including mad cow disease and Tommy Lee Jones infomercials.

    I hope Rowlett’s signing bonus was something other than stock options at $70+, and that he negotiated a good severance package.

    Obvious Man, that’s a laugh heard around the city….don’t know who you are but if you or anyone that is laughing and are an “employee” and not your own boss of your own company……You might not start the laughter just yet. !!!
