Hannibal Lecter Called: He Wants Your Liver

OK, so he didn’t ask for my liver. And it wasn’t Hannibal Lecter. It was Anthony Hopkins. But a chill still went up my spine yesterday when I heard Hopkins’ voice on my cell phone, asking me to attend the premier performance of his music by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on Oct. 17. There’s no telling how many Dallas-Fort Worth residents got similar, bone-chilling phone calls. Will I go? Nah. I might stay home that night and have some friends for dinner.

I saw that I missed a call while I was working out. I didn’t recognize the number. After realizing what it was, I was expected the imfamous “Clarice”

Like the marketing idea – probably best not to start with Hannibal.

Some fava beans and a nice chianti.

    (What a great movie!)

I think it would have been a lot better if Hopkins had left the message using his Nixon voice. Dead Richard Nixon sez: “Be sure to come on down to the symphony!”

I got a voice mail, too. Love his voice. Reminded me of other great voices: Richard Burton, James Mason, James Earl Jones…

I didn’t get the call. Not sure if I’m relieved or jilted. I didn’t even know he was a musician regardless.

For the DSO to agree to premier Hopkins’ work it had to pass a tough test.

    Kudos.

Got the message and went to the DSO web site. Saw that they are premiering his original works and music from his movies including video clips. Should be great! I’m going.

    Miggs is directing, right?

I should have said Miggs is conducting. Silly me.

Got that same voicemail at home last night. Loved the way he said “May-yer-son.”

I smell you Clarice (the PG version)

Wow. Looks like I need to go put some lotion on my skin before I get the hose again.
