Thanks Nancy. With D Magazine and Frontburner’s heavy peddling of Barack-star, you have for the first-time proposed a logical rationale for casting such an uninformed vote. If you are a Rangers fan and believe in superstitions, then perhaps you should consider a vote for Freddie Mac Obama. But, are there any Rangers’s fans still left?

Freddie Mac Obama, really? I think there’s enough blame to go around:
I’m keeping a running list: Hussein Obama, The Messiah, Barack Star, Obama Bin Biden, Obambi, The Chosen One, NObama…please let me know if I’ve missed any hot new ones.
Bruce Vilanch must be quaking in his Crocs right now about his job security assuming the McCain supporters will have to find another outlet for their punny nicknames after the election is over.

We have 2 major parties who have people running for President of the United States. These parties lie more and more each day and now we are going to link the vote to the owner of the worst franchise in major league history. This whole electoral is a joke. Maybe tonight each candidate will put on a pair of onesies and wrestle. My bet is that McCain has the Iron Claw in his bag of tricks but he needs to watch out for Obahma’s figure 4 leg lock.

I think its funny when liberals attack conservatives for watching fox news in one comment thread and then post information from highly liberal organizations like Media Matters in another.
Makes me laugh every time.

is it really easy not to have to read up on anything if you separate them into liberal and conservative piles?
Because I tend to use such sites as Media Matters, Factcheck and even National Review as jumping off points, and then read the links to the actual stories to form an opinion.

Um … maybe the Von Erich family isn’t the best group you could associate McCain with. They don’t seem to have too much luck. IJS.

Bethany, Washington lobbyists work for anyone who is willing to pay them. I bet Fannie and Freddie between them have paid 80% of all the lobbyists in DC at one time or another. That’s what lobbyists do – get paid to grease the wheels of politics. But, Obama’s ties to Freddie Mac execs and cash paid DIRECTLY to Obama is a much, much, much deeper connection. And, consistent with the liberal agenda to work with ACORN and push mortgages on those who can’t afford them through govt vehicles – Fannie & Freddie. Gee, should we be surprised that things blew up from political social engineering? I am not surprised at all. Only disappointed that so many have bought the scapegoat explanation that this is all about Wall St greed. Wall St greed was secondary to political corruption.

If Obama can throw strikes, that would be great. But the primary Rangers problem for the entire existence of the franchise has been a management that can’t pick pitchers.

@publicnewsense – So true about the Rangers management! All I’ve seen the Barackstar (best name yet) play is basketball, so maybe he would be better suited for the Mavs.
Do you really need Media Matters or Fox News to let you know the state of our union?
Look at your 401K. Look at who has been running the country for 8 years.

Amanda, the S&P 500 is up from 815 in a post-9/11 2002 low to a close of 1,060 today. It has been as high as 1,500 recently. This is a surface analysis that assumes Bush caused 9/11, Katrina, and the Fannie & Freddie debacle. He did not. He has actually guided the country safely through the worst attack on American soil ever and will get us back on sound economic footing in 2009 through his aggressive crisis management. Remember, the President doesn’t make laws, Congress does. If you dig deep, it doesn’t take much to realize that a corrupt Congress is to blame here. And, only one Presidential candidate will take on Congressional corruption head-on.

I couldn’t agree MORE with KRM. Half the time people don’t recognize what happens in Washington – but the reality is, Congress does make the laws. If only people would be more educated about how our country works…..

FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine come to waste a tremendous amount of time.

And Nancy, it looks like that’s not gonna happen:

Glad to be of help, KRM. Always.
