Batting Second (10/2/08)

1. Good Neiman Marcus scoop out of Chi-Town: the Sun-Times is reporting that Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson were spotted shopping for a wedding ring at the downtown Dallas Neiman’s. Meanwhile, two Chicago-based Neiman’s loss-prevention employees are suing the store for making a sex tape of them. The tape was allegedly distributed on a nationwide database for security personnel. The title of said tape? Grinding in the Store. (I’m sorry, Mr. Stanley.)

2. Speaking of, DISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa told school trustees, “You’ll be bumping people all over town.” He was talking about how teachers will be laid off. Expect plenty of discussion about same at today’s contentious board meeting.

3. Just as I was getting to item No. 3, Zac Crain finally woke up and did Leading Off like he was supposed to.

I would have thought that RoSimp would be shopping at Harry Winston or DeBoulle - no offense, dead Mr. Stanley.

    RoSimp? No, J-Mo.

once again, the needy is needy…will there be live entertainment from the DISD board meeting?

I was watching Romo’s stock on oneseason.com and it literally went down after the announcement of the ring-shopping news… tragic.

I agree on Bethany’s comment, doesn’t it seem very odd to be so public about the ring, and wouldn’t you want deboulle that is private and not so public or somewhere similar

sounds like they want people to know

and Neiman’s is great but I think this is odd

Meanwhile, Alan Peppard talked to employees at both the downtown and NorthPark Neiman’s, who said they weren’t there. He also provides details on Jessica’s travel plans for the week.
There was no mention the Willow Bend location, however. And it’s kinda close to Tony’s new house.

J-Mo? Definitely not Ho-Mo. No, not that. Never.

Jessica said in a Houston radio station interview, on Monday, it wasn’t true. She said she couldn’t drag Tony into Neiman Marcus.
