The Texas Watchdog has an interesting item about a recent survey given to the Sheriff’s employees. Sample survey statement that respondents were asked whether they agreed with: “Bisexual [sic] are actually completely gay.” As opposed to kinda gay? Partly fabulous with a chance of gay?

  1. Good to see Lupe getting some work done.

But she lost my vote long ago, so I won’t bother to laugh at this.

  2. Reverse discrimination? With an openly gay sheriff asking employees what they think of her lifestyle choice, do you think they are going to answer honestly? Way to watch your back there, Lupe.

On a professional note, how is your study regime going for that Texas State Peace Officer exam?

  3. It bears mentioning that what happens in prison doesn’t mean that you’re gay. Or so I’ve been told.

  4. She probably asked the same question of her fellow passengers while trapped in that elevator at Lew Sterrett last month, to fill an awkward lull in the conversation.

Sadly it was followed only by further awkward silence.

  5. Thanks Jack for posting the link with the clarification from the Resource Center of Dallas.

I’ve been through this same training at UTD and UNT and taken that questionnaire several times. The idea is to get people to explore their feelings about sexual orientation. The sheriff (or any group that participates in the training) doesn’t use it as propaganda but as part of a training.

  6. This is weak tea on right-wing politics even by the standards of this particular URL.

Given Dreher and Matt Pulle from the pseudo-nonpartisan Texas Watchdog working this issue, too, this is CLEARLY the Metroplex level of a right wing conspiracy.

And, it’s not like somebody associated with Cannaday isn’t doing stupidities like trying to politicize completely nonpolitical community events .
