(Sigh) Another Political Affair Scandal With Dallas Ties

An emailing FrontBurnervian emailed a link to the news that Rev. Jeremiah Wright (yeah, that guy) had an affair with Dallas church worker Elizabeth Payne. You know who’s not happy? Payne’s husband Fred, a Dallas oil and gas consultant who’s quoted in the story. You know who probably is happy? Anyone who wants to connect this scandal to Barack Obama. You know who else isn’t happy? Me, because I felt compelled to post this Dallas-related story but wince at what the comments section is going to look like, with Obama bashers and Obama supporters duking it out unpleasantly.

  1. We evidently need to have a National Affairs Day. Just one day where everyone at every level gets to come clean about who has slept with who and we can all just move on. I’m thinking somewhere around Valentines …

  2. Why is it SO difficult for people to control their privates? I just don’t get it. Are those few minutes (seconds, in my case) worth all the destruction and pain they cause? I just don’t understand humans sometimes.

  3. I’m thinking that we need to have a National Cheating Day, where we are all allowed to cheat and then come clean about it on National Affairs Day, somewhere around Valentine’s Day.

  10. I’m thinking we should have a National Makeup Sex Day immediately after National Affairs Day, somewhere around Valentine’s Day.

  11. Is this why news outlets have a National Affairs Desk?

  12. Ah, poor Adam is about to wet his pants because he has to “report” the truth. I love it! Yes, as a NOBAMA supporter. You guys in the media keep stepping in it, and we love it!

  13. I don’t think it’s so much that, Nobama, as it is that people are weary of distractions from actual issues involving the election.

Unless Obama a) found the chica for Wright, b) paid for their hotels, c) high-fived him for his adulterous aptitude, d) caroused with him, or e) any combination of the aforementioned, Obama is just another parishoner in Wright’s church who is likely disappointed in his former pastor’s actions. No more, no less. And it’s certainly not an election issue.

  16. Um Bethany did you say it’s certainly not an erection issue? See, it’s funny you think it doesn’t involve actual issues but history will prove that much happened while Bill Clinton was being “distracted” with Monica – like 9/11 was planned during his scandals and that he passed up Osama Bin Laden 3 times. You see vows are vows, be them Marital, Presidential etc. The fact so many think it’s no big deal is frightening. And, Obama was more than a parishoner at Trinity Church – he worshipped Wright & the ties to James Cone who is behind the “Black Liberalization Theology”. You should research that and be very afraid. It will make you understand Obama’s dream of re-distributing America’s wealth a whole lot easier.

  17. KM, weigh the pros and cons. McCain/Palin is more right than wrong for us and Obama/Biden is more wrong than right for us. Practice Obama’s Presidency by giving an extra 25 to 30% of your next check to a stranger, preferably someone who didn’t do a darn thing for it. Poof – there it goes. Ahhh, Obama feels better because he chopped the pay of the successful and spread it to those who need it more than you or didn’t do anything for it. Do you feel better now knowing you helped?

  18. Omama, have you actually looked at the tax plans? You don’t have to drink the McCain Kool-Aid. The truth is out there.
