Loyal readers of the “print product” are familiar with the cartoon called Souvenir of Dallas that runs every so often in our Pulse section. One of my favorite installments was the one about Mayor Tom Leppert’s freakishly large hands. It was titled, appropriately enough, “The Mighty, Mighty Hands of Mayor Tom Leppert.”
Well, you — and even Tom Leppert — will have a chance to buy an original of that cartoon at an upcoming auction. The artist behind Souvenir is Paul Milligan. He and others are donating original work to the “POW! Live Art Show & Auction,” which benefits The Hero Foundry, whose mission is to donate comics and graphic novels to libraries, schools, and hospitals in an effort to increase literacy and promote creativity. The show and auction are this Saturday, at 8 p.m., at Titan Comics.
Mr. Mayor, it’s for a good cause. We’re expecting a high starting bid from you.
Well, for their work and this great project I’d say that Paul Milligan and The Hero Foundry each deserve a hand.
The hand joke has run its course.
I think Bob is tired of the hand jive.
Well, you gotta hand it to him…
Bob is kinda like Highland Park. He just wants everything to be hands-free. He can’t handle anything else.
Hey, guys, I’m worried that in teasing Bob like this, you’ll drive him away from the blog. In fact, I’m so worried that I’ve been doing some hand-wringing.
I think we just got our mid-afternoon hand-slap from Tim.
I agree with Tim — Frontburner should have a hands off policy re Bob.
I feel bad for Bob. We should buy him a drink. What about at The Palm?
Uh oh, I fear Bob is getting upset — the handwriting is on the wall, folks.
Jeez, Bob, why don’t you just give us the finger? Thumbs down, Bob, thumbs down. I’m really shaken by this. I need to take five.
Don’t worry, Bob. You’re good enough, and smart enough, and doggone it, people like you. I heard that from Jack Handy.
