Speaking of media bias, something Wick-Wick is very familiar with. Be sure to watch the brilliant documentary on Helen Thomas tonight on HBO. I don’t see any articles here about Harriet Miers. When was the last in depth D Magazine investigation into Halliburton? Corporate media bias is what lead us into war. You think these media corps want to loose these massive tax breaks

it’s not biased reporting as much as it’s lazy-ass reporting and a lack of gumption from over-paid, desk-jockey, baby-boomer, middle-management editors like Hashimoto who are afraid to step outside the box and be the first publish something controversial, which is what true journalists yearn for

as a reporting assistant for a business newswire in early 1999, i was convinced one Houston-based energy concern was fudging its numbers, so i went to my immediate boss and he agreed that while we couldn’t pinpoint exactly how, it did appear there was some cooking of the books going on

we went to the AME and he brushed us off as newbies that lacked a discerning eye and needed to improve our news judgment

he said something i’ll never forget: “What does the company have to gain from lying?”

there is no media conspiracy, folks, right-wing, left-wing or otherwise

maybe a media Idiocracy, but no conspiracy…
