Borders Books & Music in Allen Is Big. Really Big.
A while ago, in my semi-super-awesome sum-up of area bookstores, I made mention of the Borders on Lovers Lane clearing out the center of the store for some music download stations. Turns out, Borders was just getting started. In yesterday’s DMN, Maria Halkias gave the lowdown on the beefed-up bookstore in Allen. Someday, I’ll roadtrip up there to give a firsthand account.

Word of warning to those who don’t like bright headlight (aka hangover). Wear your sunglasses in the Borders in Allen store. They use intense AUTOMOBILE headlight lamps to illuminate the store signage inside the store.
Riding the escalator up from level one you are hit with the floodlamps like a prison yard break!
Oh and can we get the Magazine rack any closer to the glass railing and leather ottoman obstacles. Good Lord felt like I was going to get shoved over the railing from the second level to the first level of the escalator area.
I like the Preston/Royal and Lovers/Greenville setup MUCH MUCH better!
