Why That DMN Story About the Man Who Makes a Living Selling Nostalgia is Very Familiar To Our Loyal Readers

Because the piece today about W.K. Jeffus, the man who goes through old newspapers and tracks down people who may be interested in purchasing them, was covered wonderfully by contributor Spencer Michlin in the June 2007 issue of D. (Also a reason to click our link: the great photographs of him and his place by the great Dan Sellers.) I do dig that the DMN has a video of Jeffus and his place. But it doesn’t give you any idea of just how completely nuts his workspace is. Tim and I tagged along with Spencer on a trip there, and this building is insane: a huge broken-down house stuffed completely with piles of paper and pictures. I’m talking room after room of piles up the ceiling. It’s the newspapering equivalent of the crazy cat lady house. But it was very cool to rummage through there for a few hours.
