The former Star-Telegram publisher is part of a group buying a group of Maine newspapers that were on the verge of closing. He has been leading the Wilkes-Barre Leader since 2006, and –mirabile dictu! — circulation has actually gone up.

    circ’s probably up because they’re buying their paper dirt cheap from Michael Scott’s Dunder Mifflin plant in neighboring Scranton
