iPhone Lines Do Not Abate

As I type this, there are no fewer than 30 people standing on queue outside the Knox Street Apple Store. And from the looks of things, they’re about to get wet. Seriously? Is it really worth it? Stacey?

  1. I’ll second that. Really, people, it’s just a thing, and that thing is going to be available for a long time. You’ve already got a phone that works. Do you really believe that this is a good use of your time? And if you can afford one of them, don’t you have a job that requires your time? Oh, queue stander, your phone may be cool, but you are a loser. Ah…a queueser…a that’s it.

  2. and yet not one was at the North Park Apple store. Kind of strange. NP is air conditioned, covered and quiet during the week.

  3. Since she didn’t respond, I am guessing she’s in line.

  4. Speaking of people waiting to get a consumer product that is all hyped up, did your Prius come in yet?

  6. I thought the point of innovation was to make smaller phones! NANOtechnology people.

This is still the H1 of cell phones.

  8. IttyBitty, I passed that line in my Prius, and I’m typing this comment with my iPhone. I love both these consumer products but would wait in line (in person) for neither.

  9. 1)No one is at North Park because it has been sold out for days. Knox is the only store with a steady, refilling supply. Us que’ers (uncomfortably close to another word) generally do our homework.

2)Sat in line Monday from 4-6:30 at Knox and am very glad I did. I’ve been using the thing for two days and it is already changing how I do things on a daily basis. Directions, texts, random google (Watching the game last night: “What is the longest baseball game in history?” Done and done.), and it turns out they even put a phone in there. And (some of) the free applications are fantastic.

I’m glad I avoided the lines Friday/Saturday, but this was a great purchase that will only get better as Apple releases patches and new applications are created.

    Give in uSheep.

  10. Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice, I use a real keyboard on my Blackberry to submit my post. Hosers.

Form of water! Form of an anmimal!

  11. But your Blackberry doesn’t have a spell checker.

  12. Drive past the Knox store this morning, and there were at least 50 people in line outside. This bad economy sure has people too scared to spend their money on frivolous items (me included).

  13. The reason that Stacey did not reply is because she received hers on day 2 from Mom and Dad who braved the early lines.

  14. Walked by the Apple store last night after exercising, and the side of the store was littered with trash from people standing in line. I sure hope that the Apple store takes responsibility for this and cleans up after these customers!

    Keep our neighborhood clean!

  15. Perfectly happy with my CrackBerry. Thought everyone I saw in line, while on my way to the Katy looked ridiculous! Spell checker isn’t necessary if you know how to spell, suckas!
