Well, I am not sure who had him removed but the child's coach came over to me and told me, "Thank you for saying something to him. He is like that with parents and everyone! It is so bad that I try to keep him away

from all my swimmers-not just his own kids!" This guy was probably about 20 years older and 30 pounds heavier-I am one of the soccer mom's but I was ready to knock his abusive hateful self silly. (not really-I value my manicure-but you get the point) His son was not DQ'ed-thankfully.

I am sure since this is our first year-I will see the jerk again.

I don't get why parents have to twist things so much particularly when they are so so young!

It's the Head Ref's job to remove the offensive participant, swimmer or parent, from the natatorium.

Once at a US meet I witnessed the removal of an outraged HS parent, who was upset at his daughter for not making the championship cut, and the disqualification of the swimmer in question for the entire meet.

It sounds harsh to disqualify the swimmer because of the behavior of the parent, but it had to be driven home to that jackass father that he wasn't the one in control of the situation and that IT'S A SPORT FOR ENJOYMENT.Hello!

Applause from the stands came as the Head Ref shouted, "this is MY pool and you are outta here!"

The meet was great except for the psycho dad that I saw screaming, berating and humiliating his eight yr. old for God knows what. He kept walking off from the child and coming back at him and screaming so more while standing over him and pointing his finger in the little boys face while the red faced child sobbed and his team mates looked on. Awesome parenting in action. Thankfully after my interactions (a verbal tongue lashing) with "super dad" someone had him removed entirely from the natatorium. Poor kid.

@Tim
Cool water is better for swimming. Keep the body cooler and from overheating.

Swimming is a great sport. You can take a really good swimmer and will have 2x the stamina of other "athletes". When training, the water keeps the body cool so a swimmer can work harder longer. The cardio is incredible.

I love the pool science and am glad to have something to brag about there. Something else about Loos - is that the longest ADA ramp you've ever seen?

District stadium concessions - ewe - another peeve of mine. After 8 years of sampling them all, I give the nod to Mesquite ISD where concessions are managed by their food services division instead of athletics or parent groups.

Here are the Dub-T (WTWhite) Loos pre-game recommendations: Burger House on Marsh @ Spring Valley (you could walk there from Loos.) Manny's on Midway (owned by a Dub-T family) and then we heart Spring Creek BBQ on Midway because they give $$$ to our programs plus their food is good.

Tim: my daughter swam USS and was a TAGS level swimmer and I also swam Masters...so...swimming was life for a long time!

Being a swim parent can be tough so I suggest idea #2 should be a priority... and a well cushioned stadium seat.

GET WET AND SWEAT!!!

Two additional thoughts on swimming: 1) I'd guess that water temp would affect speed, too. Warmer, less dense water easier to cut through? Or harder, because it provides less resistence to, for instance, stroking arms, which push against water to create forward motion? 2) Next year, bring in small thermos filled with sangria to make event tolerable?
