When I run on Saturday mornings, there are routinely fliers and such on my windshield when I return to my car. Usually they’re registration forms for upcoming races, and I throw them in my car and later in the trash. I was surprised, however, on Saturday to find that the offending flyer was from Green Spot, the much-touted “green” gas station across Buckner from the Bath House. It was printed on recycled paper, but I’d think an environmentally conscious company would still hesitate to advertise that way. I could be off-base here. I was just surprised, that’s all.
I love The Green Spot. They’re fresh brewed Coffee and/or tea is better than Starbucks. Plus, you can fill up your car too. Since they are a new concept, I suppose I understand if the have to resort to traditional ways of advertising.
Perhaps you could help them out with their heating bill by lighting a stack of them.
I included a link to this on my posting here http://www.djc.com/blogs/BuildingGreen/. Unfortunately, this is just one example of green I don’t even know what. And it’s ALL over. I got a holiday card last year proudly printed on recycled paper. It’s like… just send me a holiday e-mail and I’ll happily delete it, rather than having to recycle it.
Dear Katie,
I would like to wish you and yours a joyous holiday season!
Warmest regards,
El Rey
