Tim, just talked to an executive at the DMN. I’ll take that bet. Cuz, as my source says:
“At this point, there are no plans to make any radical changes to Quick.”
Then she offered to hire me as a consultant. Cha. Ching. Brutha.

DMN executives fib just like everyone else:
I called them almost a year ago to talk about a fire at their production plant in Plano. According to an editor there nothing happened at the plant. It wasn’t until I talked to the plant operations manager that I learned they had to evacuate because of a power surge at a generator.

probably because the “editor” works during the day and the power surge happened during the night shift. Things like that happen all the time, I don’t see any conspiracy of silence.

“We have no plans to make radical changes” sounds an awful lot like “I’m leaving politics to spend more time with my family.”

Heard they offered to double Celeste’s salary. When he resisted protesting his loyalty to ‘D’ Rogers and Allison, they tried tempting him with expense accounts, zero deductible health policies, Fridays 8-noon workdays to utilize gratis green fee perk.
I’m thinking golden parachute.

The power surge and subsequent fire happened during the day. The editor had to call the plant to confirm it after I called for an interview.

Once again, Frontburner publishes an unsubstantiated rumor. Let’s raise the journalism bar, boys.

Quick isn’t a weekly already?

Oh, “Ethics,” please. We read FrontBurner because of the unsubstantiated rumors. Baiting the D gang with info or a conflicting POV is great sport.
Now, please get off your journalistic high horse and let us know when you are ready to become a PR hack.

FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine come to waste a tremendous amount of time.
