Hector Montenegro, superintendent of the Arlington school district, has until 5 p.m. today to turn in a list of all outside consulting income. To which I say, good for you, Arlington trustees! For decades, there has been a tidy little racket of superintendents and educational foundation heads hiring each other as consultants and advisers to boost each other’s income. I don’t know if Mr. Montenegro has been a participant, but just by demanding an accounting, Arlington trustees are signaling that they’re putting the kibosh on a tawdry practice.

Arlington is obviously jealous of all the press the DISD has been receiving.
oh, and I’ll take “kibosh on a tawdry practices” for $200
I know nothing about Arlington but I do know that DMN used scant information to run with hideous advertisements claiming they’d uncovered Mike Moses’ moonlighting. It didn’t matter that Moses had fully disclosed, prior to his hiring, his association with a superintendent search company for which he was paid a measly $3,000.
A tidy little racket? Please elaborate before you go buy a self-congratulatory billboard boasting this piece of investigative journalism.
Thank God there are no Montenegroes in HPISD.
Montenegro has already given all AISD schools principals and teachers the Failure is Not an Option book to read over the summer. He is also scheduled to speak in October in Edinburg when he should be in Arlington running the district. Montenegro’s only priority is to make money off the taxpayers and promote the Hope Foundation and screw us out of more money. He is only out for the $$$$$$$ and prestige. Montenegro your forgetting want education is about the KIDS.
