You're never going to get extreme left or right candidates because they would both just blow each other out of the water. But the fact that in the past few days, every post about the two candidates on this blog has garnered 30+ comments means that at least a few people must think that one or more of the candidates are super ok or super not ok. Or we all have extremely lenient bosses and business is pretty slow.

monkey god, you hit the nail on the head with your post. We only get the candidates that the DNC and RNC feel can be vetted by the media, and that counts out a lot of people who could really make a difference.

Lets face it both of these candidates are lame.People who could actually change things aren't crazy enough to run.Their worried that a mistake they made in the past or what their religion is will come back to bite them in the butt. Most people didn't know what religion FDR was and he was probably racist but he helped saved our country. So keep fighting back and forth on whose team is better.Hopefully the person who becomes president will choose better cabinet members than the last president(not including Powell).

It's easy to see why conservatives like Wick are on the Obama wagon. While they don't have much heart, conservatives, they can think and they do accept that it's all about self interest.

Anyone, conservative or liberal, with a vested interest in an entity would want to have the best candidate put in charge of the entity. In this instance we have the office of President of the United States up for grabs.

Look at the candidates. One only got into college because of his father being able to pull strings. Then he managed to graduate at the bottom of his class. One of the jobs he trained for in college was being a pilot. In his career as a pilot his one success was surviving plane crashes. He survived five of them. You can look at endeavor after endeavor and the only thing consistant about him is his ability to fail and then walk away.

Look at the second candidate. He got to the best colleges on his merits. He was at the top of his class at each level. He did all this without a father in the wings supporting his failings.

After college he has been succesful at every thing he has done. Not the least of these successes is as a husband and a father.

He took on the most successful liberal political machine and whupped it soundly. No one, not even the Rove/Bush self destroying conservative steam roller could have done that.

So I can see why conservatives with their inherent and constant self interest as a guide have chosen to support Obama. Even if Obama married a woman everyone knows no one would call the C-word face to face.

As the father of daughters and grandfather of granddaughters that in itself might be the number one reason to vote for Obama over McCain.

Only a loser would use such language in the first place. But it's a real loser that would call his wife that in public.

What other stereotypes do you have to throw out there, Julie? Either make a legitimate point or shut the f*** up. We don’t need you reciting your talking points to us.</i>

Thanks SB for proving my point!!

I know I will get the rath for this, but it does fit into this thread in a small beady way.

No one’s supposed to know, but Collin County paid former teen court officer - and known homosexual - Justin Nichols $26,500 to leave his job. Unfortunately, the presiding judge didn’t read the severance papers closely enough - they read “$26 million.” [DMN]

Because for conservatives, the word "compromise" does not exist in their vocabulary. It's their way or the highway, all or nothing, black & white. They'd rather lose than compromise with a liberal...or even with a moderate.

I agree. I would just like to see the discussion about obama or mccain, be it pro or con not be "OBAMA IS A RACIST" and so that is the last I will ever say about that. My beef among many with McCain was that four years ago, he had enough of what seemed to be a free-thinking,outside party lines approach that he regularly irked the Bush empire and threatened to be a Republican I could vote for. I don't understand why the Republicans would water him down/Conservative Christian him out in a time when that's the only thing that can help them?

In all of diahh's postings, I think I have yet to see him/her say anything positive about his/her own candidate (presumably, McBush--uh, I mean, McCain), and what that person will (tell you they are going to) do to turn our country around and get it going in the right direction again.

Instead of ranting on OBAMA [yes we can!], why not tell us why McBus--sorry, McCain--is worthy of a vote?

The reason there has been no focus on McB--damn, I just can't stop myself!!--McCain in the media is because he has NOTHING to say. His main thought (as evidenced by his main staffer, Charlie Black, in Fortune mag) is, "gee I hope we get attacked again, so people will vote for me." Beyond that, there is no plan.

Just more of the same, only more so.
