Inside Word on DISD Audit

I hear — and these are direct quotes — “there are no major instances of graft” and that the auditors have mostly uncovered errors large and small that are the product of “incompetence, stupidity, and patronage.” One recommendation to the Board will be to shell out the big bucks to hire a CFO capable of managing, and hiring the right people to manage, the finances of a billion-dollar public enterprise.

  3. Well as long as it was only “incompetence, stupidity, and patronage.” that makes mishandling both millions of dollars and kid’s education, OK.

“incompetence, stupidity, and patronage.” sounds like the Cliff Notes version of W’s Presidency. What is it about Dallas that makes it a national laboratory for bad government.
