Okay, kids. This week, we’ll wrap up the Elite Eight round. If you want to vote in this round, you need to do it before tomorrow. Some interesting developments. The State Fair of Texas, with 66 percent of the votes, is thumping the Arts District. Not a huge surprise. But lookee here: Dirk Nowitzki has 52 percent of the vote in his matchup with Mia’s Brisket Tacos (with 442 total votes, to give you an idea). Another very close matchup: the Nasher Sculpture Center has 50.9 percent of the votes to Snuffer’s Cheddar Fries’ 49.1 percent (with, again, 442 total votes).

When we get to the Final Four, we’ll take a break in online voting and shift the game to the August “print product.” Stay tuned.

  1. Usually there’s one or two things on a list like this that just don’t fit, but that top 8 is filled with 8 things I love about this city. Thats special. [cue dramatic stand up, slow clap, single tear rolling from cheek]

  2. Uhh, Tim, if I am reading this correctly, this is actually the sweet 16 as there are 16 “things” remaining in 8 matchups. The Elite 8 refers to # of teams left, not # of matches in the round. Go Snuffer’s and Mia’s!
