What’s so great about writing about yourself all the time? Gonzalez cannot write a story or column without injecting a lot of “me” and “I” into it. It doesn’t take talent to do that, it just takes enough ego to think you are more interesting to the reader than the subject matter.

The DMN’s Jean-Jacques Taylor uses the same crutch in his sports columns. I don’t care what Jacque’s pastor says or that he went to Ohio State. Tell me about the Cowboys/Mavs/Rangers.

don’t know your boy, gonzalez, but will look for his stuff on philly.com in the coming weeks

and tim’s comment reminded me of a time back home in philly, some 18 years ago now, when two of my teammates got into it as we’re walking on the court for the opening tip and the refs gave them both double T’s and kicked them out of playground…so we had to play with four guys, promptly lost by about 30 or so, and the two numbnuts went back to the bar as if nothing ever happened

it’s real simple: if the sun is shining or the wind is blowing, someone in philly/from philly is looking to get in fight

and i’ll be at Cosmos about 630 tonight, if anyone wants to throw down…

It deserves mention: John is the only basketball teammate I have ever gotten into a fistfight with — before the game even started. Great guy.
