Poor Claytie Williams Still Gets No Respect

Granted, he may not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but he’s been bludgeoned for 20 years for one sentence in his campaign against Ann Richards, comparing the bad weather at a campaign stop to rape:

As long at it’s inevitable, relax and enjoy it.

Also granted, it was a particularly bad sentence. (Even as I typed it, I cringed.) Now John McCain has cancelled a fund-raiser at his home.

    Saw Williams at Brookhollow last month. He was frail. And when responding to my host, he seemed incoherent. But then, ………(fill in the joke to further prove he gets no respect.) However Rita still had that steely pit bull bearing about her.

    I would assume that many women hope he is bludgeoned for another 20 years. The simple fact that he would make a statement gives some insight into his political thought process.
    On the other hand, it is hypocritical for McCain to take his money and then throw him under the bus.

    You forgot “I’ll teach’em the joys of busting rocks.” He’s been bludgeoned lo these 20 years for that sentence, too.
