Stacey and I just spent a couple hours in front of the American Airlines Center for a media preview for the upcoming Professional Bull Riders event on June 21 and 22. The gentleman shown here is McKennon Wimberly, and although it’s hard to tell, he’s a doll (though he’s only 19, so ya). It’s easier to tell here. I asked him if he’d ever been seriously injured, and he told us no, that he’s only broken his collarbone (twice), a leg, bruised everything else, pulled his groin, etc. You see, it’s hard to stay on for eight seconds. McKennon gave us a lesson in riding the (small) mechanical bull set up in a bounce house in front of the AAC. First, Kristi Nelson from NBC 5 did it, then Stacey got up there. She is a good sport. Check out the jump for pics. I “accidentally” wore a dress today, so I just took pictures. And, if you like young cowboy guys riding bulls–and really, who doesn’t–you might want to attend this event.

That looks like an amazing afternoon all right!

I personally prefer these chaps.
