Leading Off (Computer-delayed Edition)

1. We have a couple of folks on staff headed to Austin to cast their delegate-tastic votes for Barack Obama.  Looks like they might be voting for a Barack-Hillary ticket. Getcher political popcorn ready, Wick.

2. In hat news, the jobless rate and Texas gas prices are seeing which one can send the general populace into a coma first. The good news: my wife is a recruiter! Desperate people out of work makes me mo’ money!

3. Just curious: how many statewide reporters are on the phone right now to book agents saying, “No, look, I can not only crank out this steroid-dealer-murder-suicide-maybe book in 90 days, but I can also get you a screenplay treatment that’s perfect for Mark Wahlberg.” Conservative answer: 123.

There will be no Obama-Clinton ticket. Why would the candidate of the future and not politics as usual pick someone who is the candidate of the past and politics as usual circa 1993? Besides, Jackie Calmes in the WSJ said it best yesterday, Bill Clinton (the post-Presidential, globe-trotting, money-making guy) can’t be vetted.

I hope good sense and Obama prevail and Hilary doesn’t get on the ticket. She would be our Cheney. And no one, I mean no one needs a Cheney for any reason at any time.
